Orbitor (SpaceSim)

Postby jghost5 » Tue Apr 22, 2003 2:59 pm

Not sure where I am supposed to post this one but....
Does anyone know the website for the orbitor space simulator? I used to have the whole thing on zips but needed zipdisks in major emergency at work(format without checking is always a BAD idea, boys and girls!)
Any help is appreciated as always.

If you haven't tried it yet you should check out Dan Steph's new Delta Glider. It's got complexity and flight modeling approaching many of the FS2002 aircraft and it goes much farther on a tank of gas too.

Just checked that out, pretty nice-much more complex than the norm. But, I have to admit: I'm lost with this!
Gonna have to do alot of reading to figure out how to fly in space. Earth-based flight is a cakewalk compared to this.

There are a lot of good tutorials that will help out. I found tjohns tutorials the most helpful.

http://members.fortunecity.com/tjohns/

Just before I got FS2002 I did a tour of the Solar System from Earth to Neptune in the DGII. I wanted to go on to Pluto but I couldn't find an alignment that wouldn't tie up my computer for a month or so even at 10,000x accel.

For a free program it can't be beat if your into space simming.

Okay, added that  to the favs. folder, thanks for the lead.
Gonna print most of this stuff out for future referances. AND you are right, it is a great freeware proggy.

Go to the link I posted for the DGII above. Orbiter doesn't come with sounds but Dan Steph made an add on sound program that does the trick. Look for Orbiter Sound.

Thanks for the fatherhood comments! I love being the father of a future pilot! I'm trying to get her first words to be Boeing or American Eagle (I think Boeing may eb a bit easier).

Yeah, Boeing is easier to say than "fly-by-wire Airbus A330" or "ILS approach to KLAX" !
