JPG Image Converter

Postby PSW » Sat Jul 03, 2004 3:46 pm

Can anyone please tell me a good free JPG Image Converter and where to get it ? Also, please make sure when I convert from .BMP images, the JPG images don't come out blurry.

Thank you, I'd appreciate it very much.

To do my screenshots, I use Fsscreen, PixResizer, and Irfanview (the last to lighten those night shots a bit).

All are free and they work very well!

Give us some shots!

Hi Jordon,

Thanks for the reply, I will post some shots soon. However, I am asking for a JPG Image Converter, which is a program that will convert other images (GIF,BMP) to JPG. Do you know of such a program ? Thanks.

That's what PixResizer can do actually, you can use any of these to do that, but PixResizer can do that while making the shot smaller.

I use Grab Clip Save to take my screen shots.  It can be found here at SimV and its free.  Also it will automaticaly save them as jpg images if you select that option.  I also use Infranview.  You can use it to save them in another format.  But in past experiances I have had blurry problems when doing that.  It seems easyer to save them as jpg's in the first place with GCS.  And it can automaticaly save them at diferent sizes.  Though i recamend Infranview to do the resizing.  It seems to do a better job.  And just to show what GCS does.  This is saved at 800 by 600 and has had no editing or resizing.  Strait from GCS. Though my flightsim world is flown at 800 by 600 resolution.

Hope this helps.

I prefer to use Fsscreen then hit it with PixResizer later.  That way, I can use the shots for wallpaper.  I use IrfanView to lighten up those night shots...
