Mr. Bones. I had a quick punt round on Google. Most PDF converters seem to be expensive applications. Adobe offer a limited free online service from their site. Click File/Online Services from Acrobat 4.0 (which I have) or presumably above.

I did find this free batch converter which is for Acrobat 2.0. http://www.softpile.com/Business/Text_Utilities/Review_15125_index.html
Not sure if it will do what you want.

PS. Personally I never liked Acrobat Reader.

GoBe Productive can save documents as PDF files, it's a very nice word processor. I've also got Acrobat Distiller 4.0 and it works fine

Try doing a search on the Net for PDF995. This is a freeware utility which I have just fouund that let's you convert any document to a PDF. It works by you going to Print, and choosing the PDF995 printer, and it just saves the file to whichever location you choose. It is completely free and very useful ;).

Good luck ;)

Yes, I know this is an old post but I have been searching the topics to see if anyone has mentioned OpenOffice.org -- its a free office suite can open MS word, Excel, Power Point and HTML pages -- You can create documents and save them in MS formats and a few others, (StarOffice, MS, and it's own format --.sxw, .doc, .rtf, .vor, and .txt) -- The reason I am using this post is because you can save a .doc as a ".sxw" and convert to a .pdf with this software -- it is amazing what it can do -- it is open source and will always be free -- if anyone is interested it  can be downloaded on www.openoffice.org -- it is about 65Meg download so if you have dialup, good luck -- it recommends a version of Java Runtime Environment for full functionality
