Due to a computer upgrade I recently had to reinstall Office 2003. Since I had previously activated it, I had to call it in for a new activation key. My understanding is that if there are no hardware changes involved, you can use the same key. However, I didn't write it down as she told it to me on the phone. Does anyone know of a utility that would enable me to see the key I entered?

Usually when you upgrade you can use the internet activation and not have to call them.  I have done this several times and even upgraded motherboard and everything and finally had to call them when I formatted the hard-drive for like the 10th time...:-)
