No Game Sound

??? ??? ??? ???

I have an SB Audigy as my sound card and a WINxp as my OS. Everything was fine until tonight when I lost sound in one of my speakers and decided to remove and reload the Audigy sound CD following the troubleshooting instruction. During the reload, my message window popped up stating that there may be a compatability problem between the Audigy and the WINxp. I decided to continue installing it anyway and the end result was the sound was OK playing the Audigy demos and also playing music CDs using the CD-ROM (indicating that the speakers are OK) but NO SOUND whatsoever when I play any of the several games I have which included flight simulator games.
I've checked the sound settings in each game and also checked the Device Manager and all indicated that the system is working properly. Sounds like I may to upgrade my sound card. What do you guys think?

hmmm...have you checked in the audio panel to see if the wave file slider is turned up, and or turned on?

Thanks Jared. Shortly after I wrote the article, I did some more sleuthing and lo and behold I got it working. Your suggestion was close. I went to the Play Control and found the Wave/MP3, Midi Synth and the CD Audio muted. I don't know how that happened cause I never went to the Sound Adjust at all. I unchecked the boxes and now I got sound throughout and both my speakers are working also. Learn something everyday.
