Pressed the wrong button!

My specification is 128mb graphics card
                            256 RAM
                            60 GB hard drive
                             2.2 GHZ prcessor
                             (Intel Celeron).
I have the 2002 simulator on full blast graphics etc and it works fine. My Dad has just bought a compaq with the specifiaction thus:
                  128 mb card
                   256 RAM
                   80 GB hard drive
                    (Intel Pentium 4)  2.6 Ghz.
Will the system be able to handle the 2004 sim? Obviously I don't want rock bottom graphics. If I got it would it be an improvemrnt on the 2002?

Yes, it will be a big improvent.

1, get another 256MB RAM.

2, Make sure the 128MB card is'nt a Geforce MX!, Assuming its an FX5200 you'll love it by comparison to your old setup.

Paul.

Yes, my card is a FX5200.
Is another stick of RAM really vital, could I get away with just the original one?
Cash does not come rolling in for 16 year old students!!!
Thanks, Ben.

well the memory is not vital if you want to play the sim with reduced visual setting IE scenery and detail...

Since XP uses quite a bit of system memory it does not leave much for anything else sim related...

Perhaps you can convince your dad that it is vital?

an upgrade to at least 512MB would be seriously a welcomed upgrade from the sim viewpoint as well as just primary functions ie, word excel boot-up and all of that...I was running a system that was basically the same as my moms gateway, but with mroe memory and was able to do many more things without problems ie graphic design and such as well as the sim...

Hope this helps,

Jared
