I've gotten a message offering a free IE browser addin last two times on the site.
Do you know what NFW means to the offer?

I got that offer too. I clicked "Cancel" and it kept coming back. It finally quit offering when I went to another page. I wouldn't trust something that's that insistant. Sounds like spyware or worse to me. It also didn't offer any certificate. Just wanted to install something without explaination. Not a good sign.

I would never purchase anything like that, especially since it's so easy to do yourself. All you have to do to use the kneyboard as a browser, just open up the 'kneeboard_keys.htm' file in your aircraft directory and put in a link to any website you want.

That wasn't what we were discussing. Apparently it hasn't happend to you. Yesterday when I tried to view the forum a pop up kept interrupting me demanding that I download "IE Enhancement" and install it. I kept hitting "Cancel" and even closing the pop up and it kept popping back. I finally positioned my mouse over the first post and used the keyboard to cancel it and hit the post before it could pop back up. It was quite annoying and seemed non-legit.

Since you guys brought it up, yeah, that`s a very anoying pop up ad. It wouldn`t be so bad if it wasn`t so persistant and forced you to close it multiple times.
That isn`t advertising, it`s badgering plain and simple.
I would never, ever do buisness with any company that employed those tatics!!!

I too got it many times. I'm using the Netscape browser so I thought it odd that IE would be trying to force download so it must be third party software. BEWARE!!
My mother has a bad habit of clicking on pop ups just because she thinks the computer is freaking out and next thing I know is I'm spending a few hours of my life trying to fix problems. NEVER DOWNLOAD FORCED SOFTWARE!!!!!

It would be nice to hear from someone here at SimV about this. Is this some type of advetising they have permitted or is it a popup that's hijacked the site. I notice that a lot of SimV traffic connects through Fastclick which is a little bit shady. Maybe it's something they've added. It's so insistant that I don't trust it at all. In fact, I got it again when I started this post and it keeps appearing at random places when using the forum.
Whatever it is I don't like or trust it.

I just answered my own question. Look at the top of the page. There's an add box that says "One Click Net Search-Live Desktop News-Site Operator Profile" at the bottome of the ad it says, "Move Mouse Here To Download Free". Whenever you move your curser over that add then the box pops up.
I still don't trust it though and I'd never download and install their plugin.
