I was reading that some download acceloraters use multiple connections to operate. Does this refer to internet conections and if so does it increase connection feas with you host company?
Thanks in advance

Hi Biggles. I'm sure this refers to download locations of the files themselves. The accelerator searches for various locations & selects the best ones. This would not affect your own personal connection via your ISP.

Also, does anyone know of any good and reliable software for detecting and removing spyware and adware?

Hi Biggles. It looks fine but I'm never too keen on registering to download anything. I find DAP does all I need.

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/I no longer use it as I purchased the commercial Window Washer which removes all unwanted temp files & cookies.
http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/windowwasher/index.phpThis also seems to have improved the performance of my PC. After trying the limited trial version I found it fixes all those blue screen of death problems I used get with WinMe. ;)

Funny how we use the same stuff. Great minds think alike I guess. ;D
After trying diff. download accelerators I settled on DAP. Great little program.
Have the latest version of Ad-Aware and like it too.
Now I am following Hagar's link and going to try the trial version of Windows Web Washer.
Never really had any problems with ME. I think in three years with it, maybe 3 or 4 Blue Screens of Death. I did once have to reinstall ME from the CAB files. That was a mess but sure fixed some problems with errors I was getting all the time. Gremlins!!! Dang it!
