I want only ONE browser window

I'm running IE 6 under Win98SE, and lately IE has developed a tendency to open certain links shortcuts in new windows. I want them to open in the same window.

My Favorites button opens a drop down window with several folders inside. The links folder isn't visible for some reason but that doesn't bother me because I know they're there (inside of Windows/Favorites/Links.

I also display a links toolbar with shortcuts to websites and folders inside of Windows/Favortes/Links. If I click on a website shortcut I go directly to that site in the same window. But If I click on a folder, then a site within the folder I get a new window. How can I Links/Folder/Site shortcut to open in the same window?

I can't be sure but I am almost certain this is a recent tendency.

I already have the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" enabled in IE and "Open each folder in the same window" enabled in Folder Settings.

Well i don't have that problem. If you haven't fixed it yet then you can try Netscape. The trick with this is that when you press a link with another key pressed down ( i think ) instead of opening a new window it opens a new tab. I don't know the limit of the tabs you can have but you just press another tab.........like i was in simviation.com FS2002 forums, i press the simviation Forums link all the way to the top with the combiantion and it opens that link in a new tab, not in a new window. The tabs are at the top so you click that tab and you will see a whole different screen, but not another window.

You should give Netscape a try. I just unistalled it because a lot of online games have trouble with Netscape, and Netscape has trouble loading some javascripts for the games.
