DirectX 9b - 8.1

Postby Maccers » Sat Dec 14, 2002 6:22 am

I've bought some demo software to trial for a company and they say i need the most up-to-date drivers that are available.
What they dont say untill you moan at them for days on end because it doesnt work, is that DirectX needs to be 7 - 8.1 >:(. and tbh this is just for the install program! :o
Believe it or not... this company im trialing for is not MS. ::)
I heard here a while back that there was a program that could roll back your dx versions. I've got 9b. I want 8.1 and running XP.

Maccers, do a system restore on your XP to when you know you had 8.1. That should do it. If not, reliable sources say you can get the  XPservicepack1. from MS and that puts 8.1 back in there. Good Luck.

what I did to get back from directx 9.0B to 8.1, was to install XP again, but there is a way of not loosing all your data. You can Install it like an UPDATE or UPGRADE, this way XP will "overinstall" himself, without formating your PC, and you will have the same configuration you had before.

  This worked for me  ;D
