Other Simulators

Been having a browse around the JF website and looking at the various sims available. I've been thinking about a go with a Train Sim but also quite like the look of the Farm Sim and Spintires. So I guess the question is has anyone had a go with the other sims, are they any good and easy to get used to.

My other Sims are the various Truck Sims:

Euro Truck.

Rig n Roll...>>>

Loads of fun with a Steering Wheel and Pedals!

I downloaded one of the trucking sims.

It really did look interesting, but it started me out in the city.

It was too much like what I used to do for a living, so I uninstalled it.

Had they started me out in the countryside picking up a load of potatoes or rutabaga it might have ended differently.

I've tried Farm Sim 2011 & 2013, Most of the truck sims, Train Sim 2015, The Sims 3, TDU 1&2, Spintires, most of the flight sims and F1 2014. They all work on Win XP. So far I've tried Train Sim 2015, ETS2, FSX,FS9,XPX, W.O.S. London Underground on Win 10 and they work OK. I'm still experimenting with Win 10 so will try more progs later on.

I like The Sims 3 and Farm Sims for the construction and modding aspects and truck sims and the flight sims just to play. Many of the old games are quite cheap now, so there's no reason not to give them a try.

P.S, GTA is a good game for a bit of light entertainment. The Ballad of Gay Tony is a hoot.

What I dearly love about my copy of; "Rig 'n Roll"...>>>

http://www.rignroll.com/

...is that it covers the whole of California that I am so familiar with in my daily 15+ years of Flight Simming over that territory!...>>>

I follow the same road system in my Cessna 150!

Fun on the ground, and in the air!

Paul..... ...!

My favourite Tractor Unit: Long bonnet Peterbilt...(aka; "Duel")...... :D ...!

I had one of the earlier versions of Farming simulator and after assigning my joy stick to control steering, etal, in 5 weeks I racked up 99 million in the bank and owned most of the map. but it was good fun. I had some surgery and am off work for the rest of the year so I am looking at the truck sims fozz has suggested. Before I try it though, and after watching some demos it seems there is a bit of a lack of control because these trucks seem to run into things a lot. Good topic though.

..... :D ....!

Flying in the sky = lots of space.
Trucking on the road = colliding with lots of things!

.... ...!

Truck Sims are fine with a good set of Steering Wheel and Pedals (Steer, Accelerate and Brake).
I mostly stick to just the Tractor Unit only, (Leave the Trailer behind), and just go for a gentle tour of the California scenery, in Rig 'n Roll!

You definitely need a quality Steering Wheel and Pedals though, for proper control...Price: around £50 for the complete set...nice!

Paul....Have long-bonnet Peterbilt Tractor Unit...with twin stacks...and dual air horns....will travel!... .... ...!
