Connectivity problems with FSX to Hosts

Postby greywolfe » Thu Dec 25, 2014 8:38 am

Since Gamespy went down I'm unable to enjoy FSX Multi-players.
I have openedd ports:-
23456
6073
2302-2400
6112-6122

Also all router ports are open
If I swich the Firewall off I still can't access session hosts games
All I ever get is the message "Unable to connect with host"

Help me please !!!

Greywolfe....

Go here for instructions on connecting to any of the many "FS Host" Multiplayer Servers...>>>

http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/

Run "FS Host Spy" to show all the FS 2002/FS 2004/FSX Servers available, and all their IP addresses.

Run "FS Host Client" to connect FSX to Multiplayer using one of the addresses!

Install both programs and put both short-cuts on your desktop for immediate access when required!

Further details can be had in the "Multiplayer Forum" down below.

Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Thanks Fozzer.
I have done all the above but when I copy an IP of a listed session - I get the response "No sessions found" ?

Just this minute tried it....

Loaded FSX.

Ran "FS Host Spy"...
Picked the Flightsim.com MP Server...the IP address is fsmpa.hopto.org.
Ran "FS Host Client".
Inserted the IP address fsmps.hopto.org in the box....
Search for Sessions...yes...all OK...the Server is there....
Pressed Connect....

Instant connection, and the Chat window immediately pops up, ready to chat or send a message, or whatever you want to do!

If you want to fly with a friend....arrange to tell him/her the same IP address too, so that you can fly together!

You can fly with others on various FS Host Servers, but ONLY if they want to fly with you...Beware!!
..otherwise you fly on your own on the Server.

Arrange with one of your own Mates to join you beforehand on one of the pre-selected Servers!
...or publish the IP address here, and ask if anyone wants to join you!

As soon as the Chat Window pops up....you know that you are connected to Multiplayer!

Give it a try...it works!

What version of fsx are you running? I think you will be hard pressed to find a server nit running sp2 or acceleration versions. If you are still running fsx out of the box, or fsx sp1 , that might be a problem.

Have you managed to get connected to one of the FS Host Servers, as I detailed above?.

Remember, if there is no-one else flying there, then you will be on your own!

Most of the Servers are empty!

Each one will tell you if there is any one else flying on it...via "FS Host Spy".

Just enter the IP address...search will find it...then Connect!

Don't expect to find anyone else there if the Server is empty!

Connecting to Multiplayer is not like walking into a crowded room!

Thanks for your continue help but The message "No sessions found " is all I get.
I've spent months trying to solve this and have devoted many whole days to the issue.

Currently I'm trying to:

1) My computer /router set up gives me a new IP address each log in
This "Un-fixed IP" may be an issue
2) My SP" pack may have stopped working.
3)My router ports need to be checked again
4)Forum advice welcomed

Many thanks - and I seriously look forwarda t some point to do some flying with you.

Greywolfe....

Try this, just to make sure that everything works for you...

Install, and place a short-cut of "FS Host Client" on your Desktop.
Run your FSX as usual.
Open the "FS Host Client" window....type in the IP address: 68.61.252.109...press "search"...as soon as it finds the address successfully ...press "Connect" at the bottom!
The "Chat Window" should now immediately appear in your FSX screen...ready for typing!
If it does, you know that you have successfully connected to Multiplayer!..... ...!
..that's stage one!
Give that a try, to see if everything works OK, as the first step!

Let us know...more help to follow!

Paul.... ...!

P.S...don't get too complicated...its quite easy!

P.P.S....Using "FS Host Client", it works for FSX exactly the same as it did for FS 2004!

Fozzer as soon as it finds the address successfully ------------------The point is it NEVER finds the address.

Having said that I have since had a breakthrough. By switching off my Mcafee Firewall and switching on My Winfows Firewall
I am able to find the session.

However I can see that I am registered as a player and can see and contribute to the chat bow.
I can however not see the game itself.

I start with opening my FSX multiplayer session in windowed mode as instructed.
I then open and run FSHOSTSPY & FSHOSTCLIENT.
I click on a game - find the IP address of that game session.
I enter the IP address and it finds the session so I click Connect.

Then the chat box appears and nothing else.

When you press connect - Does your screen then show the game session screen ?

Thanks for your time

Just got back from shopping.... :D ...!

Success!....You've done it Greywolfe!... ...!

All that remains now, is for someone, one or more of your Mates, etc, to do exactly the same thing, using the same address, and you BOTH will be joining each other on Multiplayer!
...that's what we do for the various Fly-in, etc, Sessions....

..otherwise you will be flying on your own!

But at least you now know how to connect up to Multiplayer!.... ...!

Look for another pilot flying in a Site address using "FS Host Spy" and join them....but always beware, they may be a stranger, preferring to fly on their own, or with their own mates!

Get one of your Chums to join you on an pre-selected "empty" address...PM them the address!

Note: That there are no such things as; "Game Sessions" in the Flight Sims now. The pilots all have to arrange their own flying Sessions now!
