would't surprise me. But i am not able to afford online gaming for the PS2 and since most people cheat on there anyway its not a problem.

no. it's exactly like playing offline. only problem is that some of the game company's servers suck (*cough* EA *cough*) and you get kicked off occasionaly. still great fun tho. i used to play burnout3 quite alot online and beat whoever got in my way ;) ;D. seriously, alot of the people online can't play the game for sh*t :P

how much better are the slimlines? better graphics? faster load time? whats up with them, i am wanthing to get one but seeing as i can barely afford rent/food/gas for my car i dont think i can afford to drop about $150 plus for it.

Not quite sure. But my guess would be something the guys in marketing came up with.
Might have one or two new features, but mostly like the same PS2.
Electronics just aren't cool unless they're small.

Meh, I won't be getting one.
And the PS2 HDD apparently can't connect to them.

if you dont need a new PS2 and cant afford one dont waste your time. There is nothing special enough about them to warrent the cost when it isn't needed.

My old PS2 just died and I had to get a new slimline.  Overall, it's pretty nice.  The starting load-up screen is a bit faster than the old ones.  Also, it is really nice to have a network adapter built right into the playstation itself.  You won't have to worry about the PS2 HDD anymore either unless you play FFXI because no future games will be using it.  It's small size makes it easier to put places too.  I don't really see any downsides to getting it over a big one if you plan on buying a new PS2, but if you already have a PS2 and want to upgrade, I wouldn't recommend doing so, no point.  Also, PS2 online is free for pretty much every game (except FFXI).

Am I being thick here?

Is it just me or is somthing wrong in the license tests?

On some you are supposed to follow the pace car and try and do the track within the set times.
