Im a former Vista User 64 and 32bit. I just installed Windows 7 and there is not a hick-up. I primarily use FSX and everything works awesome on it. As a matter of fact Im getting better performace with Windows 7.

The main difference between Vista and Windows 7 is that it does not hog your computer down. It boots up faster and applications run quicker and smoother.

You can use vista and I have no reason why you shouldnt....but windows 7 is the way to go and things will only get better as time progresses.

On Windows 7 the only slight issue that I have seen is that Adobe flash player is only compatible for 32 bit systems currently, BUT if your using a 64 bit version there is an option to use the 32bit player and it works just fine.

I like to keep up with the current trend for OS's. Windows 7 is really full of additional user ease features as advertised on TV.

I have been thinking about getting either XP 64bit or 7. It's still very tough decision, because both OS's are from what I hear great.

XP is older, but the most trustworthy. But from what I hear about 7, it has the looks of Vista with the reliability of XP. But it uses .5 of a gig of more RAM. And I'm getting 4 gigs of 1066 DDR2 to start. So thats already 2 gigs gone. But again, I can usually have open Photoshop, Firefox, and Xfire all open at once with only 2 gigs of 800.

Enough of my story, I am still in this limbo, but I think an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 6mb cache and a XFX 9600gt 512mb DDR3 gfx card, and 4 gigs of Patriot G series 1066 mhz RAM, Windows 7 would work for me.

i use both XP pro (32-bit :() and 7 not sure if its 32-bit or 64...need to figure it out...I plan on keeping XP pro on my FS machine till im more comfortable with 7 but I do have 7 loaded up on my laptop (toshiba with Solid State Drive) and 7 seems to run pretty smooth, so I dont know...still kinda hesitent about 7 untill I have used it for a bit and really sure its stable...so thats where i stand for now...and vista was on the laptop for awhile and it was rather stable but the UAC thing was a PITA...but 7 has that to some degree but still you can turn it off...

XP 64 on 1 HDD, Win7 Ultimate on another.

Both works fine.

With the latest Nvidia driver 195.62 Win 7 now performs amazing! Buth then again, I could be hallucinating, right?! :D
