Airpot Tycoon 3

Postby elite marksman » Fri Dec 23, 2005 1:13 pm

I got this for my birthday on Tuesday and am having a rather annoying problem with it. I could not find any forums relating to this game anywhere else. My problem is that until I start a new game, the sound works properly, however, after I start a game the music turns into a loud buzz and the sound effects are only correct half the time. My computer is above all the required specs and I have patched the game to the newest version. Global Star appears to have abandoned the game so I doubt I would be able to get much help there.

Sounds like a soundcard/sound drivers issue, Until I got the newest onboard AC97 Drivers, my sound in FS and a few other games was fuzzy, Run Sandra or everest (programs that detect hardware etc) and check the sound and see if its obsolete like mine was, simple drivers should fix the problem, if not oh well! Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: What sound card do you use or is it onboard? With this I can help you to the drivers if there are any!

AT1 had potential, but failed.

AT2 I saw and thought "Surely they've fixed the problems."

They didn't.

AT3 I passed on entirely.

I LOVE tycoon games, I've got a boatload.  Hotel Giant, the Sims, Sims2, Rollercoaster Tycoon, AT1, AT2....it's not the genre, it's specifically the AT games.

The first one was very buggy, and AT2 wouldn't even install.  It's got SO much potential for a fun game, but they just dropped the ball.

Yeah we've got every expansion for S1, and the first expansion for S2...haven't gotten around to picking up the newest yet, but I'm sure we will.

Almost forgot to add Zoo Tycoon to the list as well.  lol  There's a Lemonade Tycoon out there that was pretty basic, but just as much fun.  lol

Prison Tycoon, eh?  Might have to look into that.

Hey Gunny....speaking of Tycoon games, I just picked up a new one that might interest you...it's called "The Movies".  You run the studio lot, but you also get to make the movies themselves....check it out.  www.themoviesgame.com

Greatest series of puzzle games ever made, with one heck of a great storyline to go with it. Monkey island 2 is definatly the best of them, Monkey Island 3 which is the one your doing, is the funniest and I personally love the Murray skull, really funny when he's talking to himself on the plank of wood. I never could get into the newest one, part of the fun of the MI series was its simplicity to play while being challenging to complete. 4 going to a 3d walk around game was a given, but I feel it took a good game and made it far to time consuming, especially on puzzles like the clock round the pond, if you screwed it up you have to spend 5 minutes getting back to the start.
Sorry for going off topic. ;D :-[

I liked the first one...other then you could only go for so many years and then your were finished :-/  Ide like to see them redo this one with better graphics and a few more options..as well as an endless time limit ;)

2nd one i thought sucked.  Bought it as part of a twin pack.  I like the aspect of designing the inside of the terminal like in the first one and the whole customize of everything.  Really hated it when i found out the 2nd didnt have that feature.  As well as with the time cranked up you couldnt watch planes come in and takeoff :-/  Overall graphics were nice but imho it wasnt as detailed as the first one in options ;)

Didnt even know there was a 3rd one.  Dont think i plan on getting it though :P

*still ocasionaly runs 1st one in 98 compatibility mode*

Yeah it can be pretty demanding, but my system handles it fine...there's a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite fun!

There wouldn't happen to be a "Factory Tycoon" type of game would there? I've always thought that would make a fun game.
