Gran Turismo 4

Anybody own the game yet? i do and it is BAD-ACE if you own it what do you think of it? i dont like the way its layed out in the simulation mode where you buy your cars, enter races etc. but gameplay and graphics are freakin awesome. and it even lets you import your A and B licence and 100,000 dollars from GT3 A-Spec (but its only a one time thing)

I think its really good (so far).  I just got it last night and I haven't had time to play it too much (had to study) but so far I'm impressed.  The graphics are amazing and it actually has some awesome cars this time-I love the 2 '69 Camaro's it has (even though they don't handle worth crap).  Anyway, hopefully I'll get time to play it over the next couple days and check it out a little more.  Unfortunately, I have an O.Chem exam next week that will probably deminish the amout of time I can play video games.

Since it isnt out here i cant say. However i am not surprised by Paz's review. This game was hyped up too much and even looking at the pictures, while much nicer than 3, its still the same essentially. However for me the appeal is the new tracks. Paz have you played the prologue version for GT4? that apparently has penalties for hitting the walls and other cars. Alot of people were complaining about it and were hoping it wouldnt be in the final version. The ultimate question which answers what makes a good game. Do you loose track of time while playing it? I have never had a game that i couldnt "stop playing" however there are games where they are so good you just loose track of time.
Bring on the PS3 and GT5 in some 5 years time ::) :)

Prologue, was a almost like a demo of it, released a few months before the main version. It had a load of cars couple of tracks to give people an idea of what to expect.

Yeah i can definalty see where your coming from Paz on it being just an updated version of GT3, but i mean then again with the whole cars not being wrecked or damaged i have been told that they do not do that cause the car companies leasing the rights fot GT to use there cars said they dont want to see there cars all smashed and damaged, i personally think that is stupid seeing as it is "just a game" and as for the AI car bullying you, yes i can notice that alot, several times i have had to redo the same race 4-5 times just to get a first place finish, i have also noticed that the AI cars are alittle bit stronger in this one, i mean its like if you dont go in the race with a suped up car your gonna get bet. i have tried racing several races with just a stock car and no matter what i do i get beat everytime.

I never had GT3 so I can't really compare them.  A friend of mine has it and I have played it a little and I do feel that they are very simular-so I could see how someone with GT3 could be disapointed.  I never got GT3 (I refused to buy it since they cut out most of the classic cars) and as I result I continued to play GT2 until this one came out.  From my perspective, I am very impressed.

I'm getting a little further into the game now, it has an extremely annoying glitch that makes the screen jitter and kind of blurry, 4 years and they couldn't even release a clean game, this bug is so obvious that they have to know about it, everyone I know has the same problem, so I know it's not just my PS2.

Is this the one that happens when cars pass at certain points?
