Task Window fault?

Postby Fozzer » Sat Aug 01, 2009 9:05 am

Hello Chums...

Normally, when you press Ctrl+Alt+Delete in Win XP. a window pops up showing a whole (long) list of Programs which are running on your computer, which you can then shut down if you so desire, or cancel the operation... ;)...!

...but for some unexplainable reason my usual Task "Window" has suddenly been replace by this!....>>>

Image

Only the present running program(s) appear on it, and there are no means of closing the Window down, either by an "X" button or a "Close" button, and it cannot be "Closed" from the Task bar!
Once energised, it can only be closed by shutting the Computer down!

I often have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to close certain programs down which cannot be stopped by other means, and this strange "new" window is an annoyance.

Any ideas what has happened, and how the normal Windows XP "Running Tasks" window can be restored?

Many thanks, Lads...

Paul...gazing at an empty window!... ::)..... ;)...!

It's been pissing down all afternoon so they're probably exceedingly wet fairies by now. :'(
