Vista User Problem

Postby Brando14100 » Fri Feb 27, 2009 10:55 pm

On my user on my computer (Vista), I can't select properties, the option isn't there. There is an option to customize the folder, but when clicked it just says "Properties for this folder are unavailable. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might happen. It's never happened before now and I don't have a clue why. It's also not comin up in the Users folder when I go to C:/Users, but all the information is still there because I can get it when I go into windows explorer and it automatically puts me into that folder.

Oh, and another silly question while I'm at it. How do you see "Hidden" files like APP Data?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the first problem but to show hidden files hit "My Computer" > "Organize" > "Folder and Search Options" > "View" tab > Bubble in "Show hidden files and folders." Make sure to hit "Apply" and then "OK" or it will go back to normal. :) Are you sure you have all user rights on that account? Is that the only account? Try microsoft help search, that might help.

Thanks.

There are 4 accounts. The one in question is an administrator, so they should have the user rights. Even the ones that aren't an admin have the ability to chance theire properties though.

Figured it out. Somehow the folder was set to "Hidden," so I just had to set it to "Read Only."
