Conficker, Kido or Downadup

Postby expat » Tue Jan 20, 2009 3:58 am

This virus known by all of the above names seems to be causing quite a bit of havoc in the computer world. This brings two questions, firstly, I have auto update enabled on my machines for Windows updates, will the patch that is mentioned here be auto downloaded and secondly, I have McAfee online, will they have patched me too or are they all playing catchup?

Thanks

Matt

Edit, sorry XP on desktop and Vista on Lappy.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

The patch should already have been downloaded and installed if you have auto-update activated. I surely hope McAfee knows what there doing and are already prepared, since this is not a  new virus.

I couldnt find anything scanning over the McAfee pages, but my father and brother uses that on there rig, so i presume it should be safe to use.
