Wings over Vietnam question

Postby farmerdave » Fri Jan 12, 2007 9:52 pm

In WOV is it possible to make your wingmen attack the mission goal target instead of just the AA guns and SAM sites?  For instance, when I'm attacking a bridge, you can't select it as a target and tell your wingmen to attack it.  You can tell your wingmen to attack ground targets, but they only attack what you can select.  I am always the only one that attacks the bridge, and then if I miss the mission's screwed.  What do I do?

...don't miss ;)

I don't think you can, atleast, I haven't been able to. What I have noticed is that there is usually a second flight somewhere nearby (not under your command) that will go after the same target...

...and if you bring a second section (1-3 and 1-4...or if you don't give a crap about losses, bring 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, and 2-4 along too...) and give them the "Engage Ground" order, there is a 25% chance that they'll attack the primary target...

...I'm still trying to figure out wether its just pure dumb luck, proxmity, or heading/orientation that picks the targets for the other flights... ::)

I mostly stick with my Navy F-4J and escort/MIG-CAP missions...(55 air to air kills in the last 17 missions...OoRah!...stupid sim says I was shot down once, but in all reality, I just forgot to lower my gear on landing... :P)...its alot funner... ;)
