My Screen just went red? froze, only could move mouse, when I clicked beep was made, then when I pressed Esc the was a clunk, and Ctrl Alt Delete dint work ethier?

any ideas?

is that to replace BSOD, did microsoft finaly give us a new vibrant colour for ultimate f**k ups with vista

a red screen to me would suggest a graphics card error, cos a hardware erroe gives u a BSOD or a freeze with which you would restart.
if it happens again try reinstalling your graphic drivers
