JIMBO need big start up help!

Well, here i go..

I started my laptop as usual, and for some reason when i log in, just the back ground comes up. No programs, toolbars, nothin. Then the HD finishes loading to signal it has finished. This is very annoying!
If i do a disk check, after it has completed it will login fine, but when i restart the laptop, the thing will happen again. Im pretty sure no virus's on hiding on my pc as i did a spysweeper search on my pc in safe mode. Safe mode will allow me to login.
So once again
1. i log in
2. ONly the background shows
3Hard drive stops reading after this.

PLEASE can anyone help, i dont want to be contacting toshiba customer support!

THANKS in advanced, and hopefully i can get it working again, with some of the pro' skill off here!

have you done  a Ctrl Alt delete and pulled up the task manager?

From there you can choose to LOG Off...

user name should pop back up and click login...

run spyware tools such as spybots...etc..

Mine does that every once in awhile

might run scandisk and defrag as well to be safe..
