BF1942 is ok, but i hear BFV is much better if you have the system for it.

Neither of them.

There are so many good games out there that to spend money on these games would be a shame. I highly recommend Half Life 2.

HL2 is superb, But, BF1942 (especially with the Desert Combat Mod) takes some beating online!

I've got BF1942 & BFV, BF1942 is for me, the better regardless of system specs.

The Mod's available for BF1942 take some beating, especially Desert Combat.

Comparing HL2 with BF1942 is akin to comparing FS9 with Solitaire.

With of course hl2 being fs9 and bf1942 being the solitaire.

BF1942 really is just horrbile. And the engine is quite pathetic. The Mods more than just make up for this, however, even the mods are limited.

HL2 already has more mods than BF1942 and with moe on the way. Its engine is also more expandable.
bf9 DS just can't cut it.
