Spliting Images

There's some model plans I want to enlarge. I can't be bothered to go down to the print shop of muck around with the photocopier. I heard of this program that will allow you to enlarge a plan and then split it up into smaller peices which can then be simply printed out and put back together. It's a payware program but I'm cheap. Are there any freeware programs like this?

Are the plans already digitized/scanned?

I know that there are scale model plans on the web that are in "pieces".... you'd have to bring in the plans into a decent paint program, and stich them together, after which you can print them out...

Any good paint program should allow you to open two images, create a third image that will be the combined size of the two open images, and then you would copy/paste into the new image.

Then again, maybe I'm not understanding waht you're trying to do.

They're on paper but I can scan them in.

A program I use often is Rapid Resizer. It is intended for Stained Glass work but I use it for woodworking. You can scan a doc., photo etc, and enlarge or shrink it while still keeping everything consistant. The most difficult thing is keeping the ratio on each image resized the same and this program does wonders.

It is payware but has a 14 day trial check it out it might do what you want! I have enlarged some woodworking patterns to 4' X6' and it worked perfect!
So I think it might work great with models!
