How do you install drivers?  All I've done in the past is just opened up the install program as soon as I finished downloading it.  I think this may contribute to my resolution woes.

That's the most common way of doing it.

You didn't mention what sort of drivers - mobo, vid card etc.

You can get progs like Detonator destroyer that will get rid of any old nvidia drivers too.

Just make sure that before installing drivers - no progs are running and any anti-virus software is disabled.

You can also go into the properties tab of each device and select update driver - this will give you the option to browse for your driver on your hard drive.
