will break this into a couple of posts due to number of photos

have been working on some of the instrumentation lately. it is slow going and takes a long time to show any sort of progress and I got tired of waiting so decided to throw up some shots of progress so far.

setting out the locations

setting out the layout for the transponder

wiring up the first selector, this was a single pole that I later replaced with a double pole rotary as I wanted to control a small set of Leds at the same time

then it was the long slow and laborious process of marking drilling and filing out the front plate.

a plastic breadboard provides the materials for the buttons

then I had to cut the actual front sheet that goes over the dark plastic

Towrguy, this looks really great. If you are thinking to make the Garmin gps and if you haven't seen it yet, there is a good tutorial how to make one here:

yes thanks I have seen this site
it is one I am referencing as I finally got hold of a PSone screen through ebay and have it ready to go when I get to the GPS.
it might take a while however
