Newbie question

Hi there,

so far I'm not a cockpit builder, just a normal simmer (joystick, throttle, peddals, TrackIR) - but lately I have been spending some thoughts on getting myself a radio stack.

After some surfing through the net my first impression is this:
I am currently favouring the goflight avionics, as they seem quite robust and not too expensive.
VR insight are cheap, but some people seem to have problems with setup and compatibility.
PFC seem excellent quality, but I don't think I can afford them.

Now I was hoping you could give me some advice based on your experience with these products. Would you recomend the go-flight instruments or should I consider another developer?

Thanks for your help!
Manuel

I had the go flight MCP pro and yes goflight is the way to go...very easy install and they make nice hardware.  I think you get a 1 year warranty out of the box and you can always up that if you feel the need. Also support id top notch ;)

ManuelL,

Hi and welcome to the Homebuild Cockpits part of SimV.  Be careful..... if you start reading too much stuiff down here you'll turn from a "normal simmer" into one of us deranged maniacs.

The Dark Side is more powerful than you can possibly imagine.   ;)

I have my whole pit radio stack (four units......one uint switchable com1+2, one unit nav 1, one unit nav 2, and one unit ADF...will add a fifth as dedicated com 2 soon) made with Goflight VRP 166's.  They are bulletproof, work exactly like the real thing, and Goflight service is first rate.  You will be VERY happy with them.

Hope this helps.

best,

.....................john
