new here, but anyone ever use

Postby Mcdumbschitt » Wed Dec 17, 2008 11:51 pm

Hey there I'm new here and quite the FSX helicopter fan.

I am currently designing a homebuilt helicopter Simpit.

I am going to be basing my design off of a Bell 430, but I have found some pretty nice controls made by High Rev Simulators, Has anyone here ever used them or heard of them? I plan on using the UH-60 model Cyclic and collective. I know its not like the Bell 430, but Its going to be kinda of a hybrid Simulator. Im going to model as much as i can from the bell 430 and branch off in other directions here and there.

Thanks
Brad

I don't think anyone here has built a Helicopter cockpit before.

Welcome to SimV. ;)

i have plans for building a hybrid semi-pit for flying planes and helis...

but it's a way more generic project, i plan on using my saitek x52pro for controls, bolted to a console that'll hold it upright, so i can pull on it as

Thanks for the welcome.

I can see myself ending up in the nut house as it is!  I've drawn designs out on paper. ordered gauges from SimKits and a few goflight modules.

Here is a link to the controls I was refering to. http://hirevsims.com/01prod/fltcontrl/fcntrl/helo/uh6001.htm

And the pedels

and the flight mechanisms.

I'm planning on recreating the FSX Bell 430 Cockpit, from the package that can be download through this site.

I am planning on using a projector for the monitor but I dont know much about them. Im toying with the idea of getting the TRC500 GPS system from Simkits instead of using a separte monitor.

anyhow thanks for you time and help. any suggestions feel free to shoot them over to me. I will try and get some pics up as stuff starts to arrive.
