hey guys, ive had my own cockpit set-up attached too my chair a while back, but the system eventualy failed, here's an example:

It worked well for a long time, but eventualy the connection too the chair failed, causing the stick and throttle to lean more and more forward. I'm planning on designing a new system, but i would like to have some feedback from you guys, im planning on putting the throttle in the center as if one was flying a jet or chopper. Any suggestions on the prefered method for this?

My mother gave me grief for putting my old saitek between my legs... i soon stopped afterwards  ;D

as for it leaning forwards... is that the actual hardware leaning forwards, or the aircraft? my joystick has a left tendency (no, not the gyro in the game) so sometimes i have to re-plug the USB back in to get it sorted

but yeh, it would be quite good to have it centralised, it makes for nicer flying as i found whilst 3kft above a real runway in a real plane when you can rest your arm on your leg so you dont tire so much

I think what you have is fine; just need to beef up the attachment hardware, it looks like.
And I've never heard of a chopper or fighter that has the throttle between the legs... the stick, maybe, but not the throttle.

it is the physical hardware that leans forward deu too the weight of the stick and throttle ;D.

Oh well, maby it works better, having the throttle between the legs eh? ;D ;)

Edit: Il put up a pic of what happend to the structure.

here are the pics:

as you can see the upper hinges are completely bend and stretched, this is/was the weak point of the construction.

Finaly worked out a better system, inspired by the guy that posted video's on SimTV on how to keep the pedals next to the chairs.

the throttle quadrant is still on a temporary position, im going to need to figure a better system out for that one, it will generate more force on the system, it was also the first part that gaveway in my previous system(see above). :)

Looks better... but i think you are skirting the edge of the vortex... soon you will be sucked into building a simpit... ;d
