Finally got ahead on some home improvement projects and took some time today to play around. My FS computer has been sitting in storage for awhile so I set it back up, initially I was having some power supply issues so I disconnected some fans and everything is honky dory.

My rudder pedals are now hooked up to my BU0836 joystick controller, only issue is the potentiometer is bad but I was able to get it to work OK with some tuner cleaner but another 100Kohm is already on its way.

The Saitek Yoke/Throttle combo is pretty cool, I cant really compare it to anything since this is the first yoke I have owned. At least it looks the part and should integrate nicely into the panel Ill be building.

Looks quiet cool so far. How is that quadrant? It looks a little annoying to be having it quite so low for idle (I would have had mine... if i had one... where  it was rotated 45 degrees or so)

The quad actually feels pretty good, even though is cheap ABS plastic it feels solid. My only gripe is I cannot replace the knobs, say if I decide to fly GA or civil. The position of the quad can be changed so the levers start higher

Initially I was going to build my own quad but (the cost to time ratio) of the Saitek is unbeatable. With some creative fabrication it should look pretty good inside the cockpit.

Yeh the saitek is pretty damn cheap compared to CH (CH throttle is more expensive than the saitek combo you have... clever saitek, have some more money for being great)

Throttles do look a bit nasty to make, I would have no idea how to fit all the potentionometers into such a small place.

I was pretty gun ho when I first discovered what I could do with FSUIPC but now I need to be a bit more practical. With a combination of products and fabrication I hope to build something nice

For the throttle quad.......

Mount a board at an angle tipping upwards that takes the place of the horizontal table edge..... then clamp the quad onto it.  Experiment with angle.  That'll take care of the 90 degrees horizontal ground idle/cutoff position they built by defaut (whose idea was THAT?  ::))

Thanks for the idea  ;) a better angle would make those switches on the quad more useable too.

I think the next step is gonna be the panel then Ill work on the pedestal. For the quad I was thinking of integrating a trim wheel also using the BU0836.

"Finally" is not a thread title normally associated with this forum... definitely caught my eye.

That looks  like a good product for the money... typical Saitek.
