Hi all
I was wondering if there are many places producing aircraft gauges for your home built cockpits.
I have had a look at simkits but they are'nt cheap and when you convert it to New Zealand dollars, 98 euros works out to $182.79 NZ dollars plus postage and any other charges.
Is there alternative ,say producing your own gauges or any other web sites you can get gauges from
cheers
Rhys

There is a book out thee somewhere, Ill have to try and find a link for you, it teaches you how to build gauges. But you may want to look into FSXPAND and go the software route if building gauges is too much.

Thanks for that masternerd
The panel I want to build is a hughes 500d, at the moment I am trying to track down a real instrument panel. It would be great to use some sort of monitor and great a face plate over the top and use software gauges, but I have never seen long narrow screen which would do the trick

Ebay can be helpful look here:
http://flight-simulator-cockpits.com/node/5This is what I have so far, still haven't started my build but multiple monitors using networked PC's could be much cheaper then SIMKITS.com. Just do your research before you buy anything

Here is a site I put together which will give you a basic overview to cockpit building:

Thanks Masternerd
Once I either get hold of a MD500 instrument panel of create one, I will tackle the display side of things once things are in place.
I need 14 gauges in total for the panel, mounting a screen in the panel would be cheaper than buying customs gauges

hsv,
I think do a search for "Mikes Flight Deck" and that site has info and the book on building such gauges. If this is not it... check the "Resourses" sticky at the top of this section.
best,
