those levers will be mixture controls (prop) condition levers (turboprop), and fuel cut offs (jet).  I am going for a generic sim, that doesnt take up a lot of space.

I get it... the Saitek will handle all throttles... interesting.
Have you worked out the "guts" of your other levers yet? I have some ideas, but am still trying to come up with the "perfect" mechanical interface...

i will be using Slider60s from phidgets that plug into the 8/8/8 card.  I have found that those are better than stand pots because they can be used in an up and down motion with the handles, and they dont have to be put directly onto the handles like standard pots.

Them Phidgets sliders are pretty darn pricey, and what with price of the interface card... I dunno.

I got some very cheap slider-type pots online and will use a Hagstrom pot controller with them. Might work well enough...

I have a link to the mfr's site on my other computer; maybe later I'll share... perhaps it could be added to the Resources sticky.

They are pricey, but I havent bought any of my interfaces (holidays and birthdays are a wonderful thing).  So, price is no option.  I have a total out of poket expense on this thing of $0.  Because everything was given to me, or I have "acquired" through sources, all legal ;).  My A&P school that I am attending is sponsoring it  :o, s I get all my sheetmetal, switches, wire, etc. given to me.

Remember, its not what you know, but who you know...and how smooth you can talk.

I think the 2 threads should be merged together.

Anyways, this project is looking good. I'm gonna keep a close eye on it because I may try and do something like this to make simulation a little more realistic. Good job man. ;D
