Forever is a long time... cheer up, keep your eyes peeled for big CRTs being thrown out or sold at yard sales, start hunting on eBay for a cheap 19", and meanwhile, look at this even cheaper solution:

hahaha lol... if i had some patience i could make a whole batch of those things... pretty cool ill have to try that..... now for the hydraulic motion system hmmmmm...... i could get a few of my buds to lift my chair and tilt it around....

I'd like to build a 747 sim cockpit sometime this century. Or if someone is willing to part ways with theirs, I could try and buy it. That way all of the parts are there and all I need is a room to put it in. ;D

Although the freight charge would be astronomically high but at least I could put it together in a weeks time. (Maybe)

Ouch - I experimented with the Fresnel Lens 'solution' a while back: waste of money.

To get anything like a reasonable display you need a pretty big lens and although you can get them quite cheap (I think I paid about

only reason i got the lcd was i ponyed up $50 when i bought my pc and got it instead of a 20 in regualar monitor
