Keyboard commands

I am using the KE72 keyboard encoder to add switches to my system. I am having great results with it, very easy to use. But, I have run into sort of a dead end. I have searched for several days on forums and can't find any results.
FS2004 doesn't have all keyboard commands for certain functions on keyboard. IE: taxi lights, beacon etc. but it is simulated on some aircraft. Is there a way to add these keyboard commands so I can use a switch to turn them on? I have tryed adding the keyboar command through FSUIPC works great on the keyboard but for some reason when I write the program for the encoder for the keyboard assignment, it doesn't work.
Any help on this would be appreciated since I am new at this, thought this would be the best place to turn.
Thanks, Hawk

I'm not 100% certain on this (new at it myself), but you might be running into one, or both, of the following problems:
1. FS2004 keyboard assignements. Some commands exist, but have no keyboard command assigned. I know wing-fold falls into this category. You are using a keyboard encoder, therefore would need to assign an actual key to the command in FS2004 options.
2. Aircraft configuration. Some aircraft lack certain functions, without modifying the aircraft.cfg file (and possibly the model) these functions can't work. Lights, smoke and effects files could all be affected by the .cfg file...if there is no entry then the system doesn't yet exist in the plane.
There might be other difficulties, but I have no idea what they might be. Hope this helps.

There are some things that simply dont have an assignable command. For instance, there is no way to assign the fuel tank selector to key commands or joystick/controler buttons.

There is a little program called mouse to key for FS.
Just search google for it. It has a free trial and only costs a few $ to register.
Works great!

Hawk.... Hi and welcome to SimV and the "Homebuild" forum.
I may be wrong here ... but I think that program is called "KeyToMouse".

Thnx for all the replies very helpful. I finally was able to contact hangstrom the maker of the decoder board and man these guys are great. They really work with you turns out that some small glitch in the products board may be the trouble maker. I havn't had the time to test their theory. But I was able to get the switch to send command to FS2004.
I am going to check out the mouse program as well sounds great.
Thanks
Hawk

Try adding a window to your panel. Place your blind switches on it then program them, close the window leave it closed so you don't see it!
Don't know if it will work but it may just be worth a shot

How about placing the gauge and programing "KeyToMouse" then using Gaubmp to remove the gauges bmp's so it wont be seen?
