LCD Display

Postby SilverFox441 » Sat Apr 30, 2005 2:38 am

I found during my various wanderings a neat little LCD project and the display that it uses. Very cool little piece of kit...looks pretty useful.

I laready knew that I wanted a couple of LCDs in my pit...but it's getting ridiculous, I've now found uses for 4 of the things! I want to monitor each of the 3 computers (temp, CPU loading etc...) and that will take one each. Add this new toy and it adds up to 4.

Silverfox,

Check out the Phidgets lcd displays ........... they might do some of what you want... and I think the basic text ones are cheaper.  Plus they interface with FS2Phidget.

best,

I did compare the two...

Matrix Orbital displays are 20 character x 4 line displays, and have direct inputs for up to 25 keyboard switches (in a matrix offering all keyboard inputs), outputs for I think 4 LEDs, and they also offer outputs directly able to control 4 system cooling fans at 12V. All this at $82.95.

The closest Phidgets item is the Text LCD with 0/8/8 interface.
