As I read through the posts in this section I notice that some of these intruments are "powered" by a couple lines of code.

My question for those who may know, what kind of code is used to do it? Visual studio dot net? C+, C++, C#, JAVA, etc?

Just asking...

I've been learning lots of different languages in school and just thought I might be able to use this stuff I'm learning at a later date for a more practical purpose..

That depends on the simulation software and the hardware you're using for instrumentation.

In my project Im making the instruments from scratch so I can pretty much interface it with whatever I want.

Since I only know perl reasonably well Ill be using that... but C, Java, Pyhton, PHP, assembler or virtually any other language could be used.

If you provide the sim you'll be using and what hardware you'll add maybe someone can give you a better answer

Allrighty, I wasn't actually asking for my own planning purposes. Just wondered how it was done behind the scenes..

Thanks for the information, I'll keep it in the back of my mind for future use someday after I graduate, find a job, buy a house, etc....
