I remember reading in someones topic about their sim pit that they used a keyboard for all of the controls. I took one apart the other day, and I cant see how this would be possible. does anybody know how this is done?

PS. I mean they wired buttons and switches into the keyboard somehow, so that pulling the gear activates the G key, ect...

I read something like that myself but i do remember that the keyboards must be the older type because they have these switchs, like 100 or so.  Correct me if i am wrong.

There is a whole site with an explanation of "hacking" a keyboard.  I can't remember it right now.... but I'll see what I can do.

A keyboard is actually a "matrix" of connections.  Each button is defined by it's position on the row and column.  The wiring is simple once you figure it out.... and bring the actual connections to some sort of breakout box instead of the pcb.
