Crazy idea...

Anyone know if this is even possible, not considering money a factor. I would like to combine two joysticks to use one as a collective and one as a cyclic for a helicopter, along with rudder pedals. Is this possible? It seems as if it would be, considering you can have a yoke, rudder pedals, and throttle all at once. In real heli's the throttle (cyclic) is not a stick type throttle like in the computer version, you have to hold it for it to stay that way. I would like a joystick to simulate that. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Yes you can.

I am at work so bear with me here.

Plug both joysticks in and ensure that they are working in windows (ie drivers installed)

In the flightsim go to assignments>axes.  You will see all of the controls listed that can be assigned to a joystick axis.  Throttle is one of them.  You will notice that rather than saying X-Axis for Ailerons it will be Joy 1 X-axis or something similar.  Select throttle>change assignment and move the joystick you want as the collective in the axis that you want.

Go into the sim and see if it works.  Sometimes you need to reverse the axis to get it to work properly.

Good luck.

Well, if money is not an object you could always go here: http://hirevsims.com/homepage/1products ... lopics.htm

Of course Will has already mentioned the easy way of doing this. I personally use this method and have found that it works perfectly. Good luck.

Thank you both. On my way to the store for another joystick now!
