I have a CH Products flight yoke and was wondering if there was any way i could remove the throttle prop and mixture knobs into a customized case just for a little added realism. I'm not really hardware savvy, so Plain-Jane terms would be best. Also, since I am afraid to take my yoke apart for fear of messing it up, how would I go about removing the neutralizing springs since real planes dont use that?
Not having the product you mention it is difficult to advise you. I would recommend that if you do, take it slow and steady. If in doubt take snaps with a digital camera to ensure that you get it back together properly.
The bits that do the business are called potentiometers or "pots". They will be connectd by three colour coded wires to the circuit board.
It can be. Sometimes the three wires end in a little female socket that the pot plugs into. In other cases they are soldered direct to the board. You'll need to take it apart to find out.
