My Simulator Update

Postby ermias » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:27 am

Hello,

Here are some pictures with update to my simulator. Aggregate of Saitek throttle quadrant with trim wheel. A pedestal comprised of Saitek avionics, Hispa Panel's rudder, cargo and engine fire and real aircraft parts (eBay) in the process of interfacing with ProSim 737 avionics via USB keyboard cards. I also decided to build dual control columns using CH yokes and pvc pipes. It still needs more work. At last two second row car seats from of a van. Hope you like it and comments are welcome.

Best,
ermias

That's Cool show us when your finished too !!

I've got as far as obtaining 2 Semi-Truck Air Ride Truck Seats, for FREE where I work,,,

I was gonna hook up a small craftsman air compressor to make the seats go, Up & Down !

Ya' can find some really Nice High Back Semi Truck seats with Fold down arm rests at used Truck parts shop around the country, and sometimes the dealerships have specials , Petertbilt, Kenworh, Freightliner, Mack etc.

They are way comfortable to sit in for enduring hours upon hours of sitting ( Trust me I know !)

Tho I see ya kinda already got some seats, but for anybody else out there thinkin' bout building a Aircraft Jetliner cockpit,,,

Jetranger,

Thank you for the suggestion about the seats, I am sure they would look and feel great. I think I will settle on what I have for now, but eventually I plan to replace the seats with airliners crew seats from eBay. I know they are expensive, but they are worth it at the same time. I saw very good alternatives like yours with built in force feedback capabilities for bouncing, rumbling, touchdown and the like. I will do that after I move the simulator to my garage out of my basement.
Pete,
Thanks for the comment. I am sold since I was a kid. My dad was aircraft technician for almost 37 years and I had a lot to ask and see. I have been building this for solid ten years, but as you probably know, it started as a single seat and undergone different shapes, forms and additions. This one is functional too, but is limited as many of the pedestal parts are still not interfaced.
I don't see my signature for the links, but you can check my previous versions and the latest one from here. They still need some videos to be uploaded to them.

Best,

You've obviously put a lot of thought and ingenuity into it. VERY, VERY good job. :D

Now if I could only get my butt in gear and fix some of my equipment.
