homemade Rudder Peddals

Seeing the holidays are coming up and its cold I figured I may as well do this myself.
What would I need in the way of tools?

Screw drivers
Soldering iron
Solder sucker
Hacksaw
Torch (for soldering pipe together)

thats all I can think of.
