Hi

I've been lurking in the background for some time and enjoying reading the posts.
I thought I'd post this link for anyone looking for plans for a single seat pit. I have no connection to the author other than being a member of the Simpits group run by Gene. I think the plans Gene has come up with are perfect for the new builder and are a great starting point. The link is

You can download the manual for free and preuse it at your leisure. The plans should be available as you read this.

I think sitting down for an hour or so and drawing some things up could produce similar results for hardly any cost whatsoever. Looks nice, but could be done for free quite easily.

Designs are only good if you can intepret them. Give me some wood and tools and I could make that no problem. Bearing in mind the whole point was for someone to make their own designs for free in a few hours, there you have it. Of course, it would be better if I actually cared about making that pit, had actual dimensions to work from and didn't have all my GCSE coursework to do too.

Look, you made a statement about something you could do.  I called you on it and you coudln't do it.  Simple as that.

If you can do what I asked within the next three months, I'll still send you a plan set & the CD for free.

I dont want those bloomin' designs for free - As proven, I can do it myself for free... And I can intepret them, and there is sufficient information for me to be able to build it.

In 3 months I could construct the damn thing myself... I just don't want to. When I feel the need to make my own pit, I will design it similarly to as I have done here, refine it, model it in 3D (a process which would only take a week or so), put it into CAD (a process taking a few days) and cut it out on a LASER cutter at my school.

Just don't have the money nor the need to want to do it. C'mon, you like my designs really

With such a great knowledge of 3D parametric modelling and CAD - how come you reverted to pencil and paper for this one eh?
