I was looking up cockpitware for there free boeing glass cockpit software (but not free nav data and fsuicp) and the site wasn't working. So I randomly got the idea to type in Free glass cockpit software which usually never works. And....
One of the first results, http://rjglass.sourceforge.net/instruct.shtml
It runs on linux, windows and mac with simconnect and no need for fsuicp or bridge software. Its based off a CRJ-100 and should work fine for any CRj unless your really specific on the details. It also uses OpenGL so I assume you don't need much to run it.
What makes it different is its 100% free (minus the game) and can run on linux. So you don't need(but can use) a copy of windows and you can use any old computer with a graphics card.
I am going to test this on Ubuntu Linux, 256mb's of ram, GeForce 2 and a Pentium II. That machine already runs 3d games and a fully function 3d desktop with 6 desktops thanks to the power of linux
