Radio Panel Questions

Since school will be over in the next week, I'm going to have some time to get back to working on my controller, and one of the only things I really want to do but can't quite figure out how to do is to make some sort of switch or rotary that lets me change radio and nav frequencies and OBS setting if possible.  I'm using the BU0836A for this, so if anyone knows a way to do this in FSX, I would be extremely grateful.

Also, if anyone can give any tips on how to wire some LEDs to a battery to make some battery powered panel lights, I would appreciate it as well.  Is it as simple as this:

Now, if I want to use multiple diodes, how would I change the formula for the LED and resistor combination in parallel?  Or can I just put multiple LEDs in series with the same resistor I would use with a single LED?  Is there a non-ideal LED voltage drop I have to include that will have more of an effect with more LEDs?

FWIW, my plan is to use a momentary toggle switch (on/off/on)in lieu of a knob: up will be increase, down will be decrease. For radios, on switch for whole numbers, another for hundredths.

Thanks Sean.  Do you know what the command is in FSX to change the frequency?  In the controls section of the settings, I don't see anything that is the command to change a frequency or OBS setting, is there something I'm missing?

Me no savvy FSX... sorry.

But I do know that there is a version of FSUIPC for FSX; worth getting to really unlock all of the command possibilities.

Im pretty certain that FSX can use simconnect also

Yeah... FSX uses Simconnect also.  

BUT....... it seems to me that I don't hear too much "chatter" in the cockpit building community about that.  So in spite of the "free" aspect of Simconnect....... I THINK that most people are still using FSUIPC for interfacfing a lot of stuff.  The support in the community for that package is AMAZING.......and the support FOR IT out of Pete Dowson is also amazing.

Mobius, you will be amazed at what the payware version of FSUIPC can open up to you in the sim.....that goes beyond just hooking up hardware.  It can improve your joysticks and throttles, allow you to map buttons to things that are not normally available to joystick buttons, and improve your weather..... among MANY other things.
