Cessna_n137cm's cockpit plans

Postby Cessna_n137cm » Thu Mar 02, 2006 5:06 pm

Hey!
Im soon going to start my own home cockpit for fs. Just going to make it very simple no gauges. Im going to make it as a whole disk and with an old car seat. I got my idea from this site http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/n269lp.htm but mine is just going to be a one seater. Im going to use the flight yoke I already got but im also going to by one of those CESSNA Avionics Panel from The Desktop Aviator http://www.desktopaviator.com/index.htm. In the photo below is my plan but the measurements are just a rough measurements also I still have to figure out all the seat heights and stuff. Plans are alot like the two seat on the web site I got the idea from also the drawing is

Looks like a nice piece of kit. Don't worry about any lack of complexity...it only has to meet your needs after all, not anybody else's. :)

I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts about the desktop aviator panel. It seems to be an interesting pice of kit.

A guy from Desktop Aviator ( http://www.desktopaviator.com/index.htm ) told me that they'll have the Model 1010 back again in April. It's the one with the 5 position keylock switch.

I'm also told that they are working on a NAV/COM radio (no LED Display) to change the frequencies
of the Flight Sim's Radio Stack. It uses a thing called a rotary encoder switch.

Can't wait for that one to come out. I'm already on the list to buy one.

Looks a lot like my preliminary design... do yourself a favor and don't start thinking about an enclosure... :D

Have fun, and post pictures! ;D
