Cockpit Construction Continued (Part 4)

Main Instrument Panel Displays and Gauges

As the general layout of the glareshield portion of the simpit is becoming clearer, I have moved my attention to the main instrument panels section of the cockpit.

Will,

THANKS!  It is a lot of work.... but is really a fun project.

The "footprint" of the pit I am building is only 60 inches by 60 inches.  Designede it that way.  If I could afford all lcd monitors for most of the "glass cockpit" displays (3 of), the depth of the pit could probably be reduced by about 10-12 inches by significantly decreasing the depth of the main panel support structure.  If I was willing to "lose" some of the center console pedestal or the left side console, I could easily shave off about 6-9 inches in that dimension.

A Cessna type thing could likely be done in a smaller footprint than the 5' x 5' I'm taking up.

So don't give up completely...... see if you can at lease "spruce up" the desk area that you are using.  You were off to a good start a while back.

Thanks again.

best,

.................john
