Cessna 172 Sketchup Project

Postby MiRi » Sat Jan 22, 2011 6:35 pm

I have designed a Cessna 172 cockpit with a motion platform using Google Sketchup.
Here is a picture:

And here is the link to download the model:

Miri,

Interesting.  How are you going to drive it?

Can you please upload the image to our server?  Outside images are not allowe on SimV.  The uploads page and image rules are located on the "upload Images" tab at the top of the forum pages.

Thanks.

best,

...........john

Nice sketch up Miri

I read that you are going to use wiper motors to drive it. I would think something more powerful would be needed
I have spotted this in the past for motion and would think it would do the trick. It is all set up to interface with FS9 and FSX Plug and play right out of the box.

If I had a spare $40000 I would have one

Peace

Hi John,

I'm sorry about the image, i fixed the problem and thank you for your comment.

And hi Mark,

Thank you also for your comment. I took a look at the website you suggested me and it looks very very cool, but the price is to high, i'm thinking more of a cheap DIY motion platform. I will first build the cockpit and then eventually add a motion platform. Talking about the weight, you are right, but i was also planing to use 2 wiper motors in pair to drive one side, that means 4 wiper motors alltogether.

Here is a picture of what i mean.

And here is a link of the website:

What do you think?

Thanks again to both of you,

Best Regards,
MiRi!

Miri,

Thanks for fixing the pictures.

Are you going to write the code to drive the motors?
