SERVER DOWNTIME

Postby pete » Sun Apr 13, 2014 12:46 pm

Sunday April 13th, 2014

Our main server has developed a physical problem on one of the hard drives. You may have noticed a slow site lately.

This means the disc needs to be replaced and that means - server powered down and site off air.

This will be happening sometime today and hopefully the site will be back up within 1 hour or hopefully less.

Apologies for the downtime.

OK It's been done. Hardware replaced, files rebuilt and the server is back online. All took about 30 minutes. Seemed to go ok. <<q

Well, dont know if its just me, but the site is running a bit slow.

In forums, i get a lot of server time out and then it goes back to main page.
When i'm lucky, i can read one or two threads, then the searcher starts to run backwards ending in time out. No image showing up.

Seems to me your site are having problems to update.

Dont know if you're still on the upgrade maintance.

No problems on other sites.
Cheers.

I switched to Google Chrome to post this. Couldn't even post using IE. I thought it was due to the Explorer update (patch) I did yesterday. But I see others are having the same problem.

The issues today are unrelated to the previous issue.

We have been installing security software and it requires some tuning.

Should be ok for now

hahaha I got so mad with Google Chrome I uninstalled it. Turns out it wasn't that either. I did notice a sneeky problem when trying to uninstall Chrome. At 1st I couldn't do it because a message came up to close all Chrome browsers 1st. I searched everywhere and couldn't see Chrome open at all. That is until I opened the Task Manager and found 2 entries. They must sneekily run their browser in the background to monitor every activity. I bet Google knows what side of the bed I sleep.
