In this video you will discover a little series of 13 sandwiches from all around the world:

The Chicken-Avocado-Aioli from Australia.
The Gatsby Sandwich from South Africa.
The Cucumber Sandwich from Great Britain.
The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich from North America.
The Danish Smorrebrod.
The Italian Panini.
The French Croque Monsieur.
The Turkish (or German) Döner Kebap.
The Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich.
The American Sloppy Joe.
The South American Choripan.
The Polish Zapiekanka.
The Toast Hawai from Germany.

How many sandwiches from around the world do we actually know? Some have international reputations, like the panini or the croque monsieur.

Some are definitely worth getting to know better, such as the choripán or the Gatsby. All of them have great stories to tell.

My wife makes me things like biscuits with flat egg sausage and bacon with cheese, or maybe eggs scrambled with potatoes and sausage also with cheese rolled in flat bread from cast iron skillet. Quite tasty and always made the guys at work jealous when I brought them.

Image
Note the over sized biscuit usually sent to work with 2 and my thin self could eat them both.

Image
Also sent with 2 to work for my breakfast. Bread like frybread cooked without oil in a dry cast iron skillet.

Apart from the Mexican influence, I often wonder if the present North American preference for a type of food was/is influenced by the early Northern European immigrants...>>>> https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... County.svg

If so, German Sausage would be quite high on the list!.... ...!

...and I still cant figure out where Beef Burgers came from!... :o ...!

:D I can help Mr. Fozzer, where Beef Burgers came from? It from Old MacDonald had a farm, ;)

E-I-E-I-O,
And on his farm he had some cows,
E-I-E-I-O,
With a moo-moo here,
And a moo-moo there,
Here a moo, there a moo,
Everywhere a moo-moo.
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E-I-E-I-O

This CHiCATANA ant is a gourmet delicacy, only the belly is selected to prepare them. Only once a year... some surfers from Australia & South Africa said it was also popular food over there. Here in México we eat insects by tradition, like grashoppers & maguey worms, in tacos & with mezcal (turn subtitles on & select ENGLiSH):
