Lockheed Vega B in the Standard Oil Livery that flew from NYC to Norway with pilot E.E. Aldrin (father of astronaut Buzz Aldrin), taking off at dawn from Duxford:

Lockheed 8D Altair (Sirius Special) in Lady Southern Cross livery for the first West to East - Australia to USA Pacific crossing, also taking off at dawn from Duxford:

Lockheed 9 Orion in Varney Speed lines livery, taking off at dawn in formation with G-AKiF, from Duxford:

Lockheed 10 Electra in fake Air France livery, from the Casablanca unforgetable movie, ready to take passengers into safety, at dawn:

The model was so poorly made using cardboard & paper, that it was decided to take this scenes with lots of smoke to represent an extremely misty morning:

Lockheed Constellation in Air Françe livery. My flight from Paris to México city in 1956, was in a Super Constellation of Air Françe. We stopped to refuel at the Azores islands, at Boston & at Houston. I was under the care of the most sexy & kind stewardeses when 13 years old

Last, an unknown (to me) the Howard 500. While the Howard 500 bore a strong resemblance to Lockheed Lodestars and Lockheed Venturas , it was a substantially new design, and all 500s had completely new fuselages. The only major components taken directly from its Lockheed forebears were the outer wing panels (from surplus Venturas) and undercarriage (from Harpoons), here in mid flight from Madrid to Bilbao:

Hello, that Howard 500 that you show in your photos is one of the best-handling and best-flying airplanes on SIMVIATION. I used to fly it a lot due to its realistic takeoffs and landings. It feels nice and solid like big twin radial-engined aircraft do. Glad that you are flying it as well.

I felt bad, not having an FS 2004 shot for the Connie. I found here at Simviation very nice & free versions of the Connie, surprisingly pleasant to fly:

First the livery I crossed the Atlantic in, a total of 24 hs with stops, from Paris to México city. I lived in Madrid BUT there were no diplomatic relations between Franco's Spain & México, so I had to fly from Madrid to Paris in a Vickers Viscount of Air France. In Paris I got my visas for USA & México. I did not like the elevator sound of turbo props as much as the creaking & windy sounds of Tante Ju!! My six year old young sister was under my charge, my older sister was chaperoning our flight from Madrid to Paris. Air France stewardesses were MUCH BETTER & softer... my older sister stayed in Madrid to get married.

Another livery from those late fifties:

Both Connies are parked at Duxford. I hope more excellent scenarios like this one to be available soon!!   HASTA PRONTO

GRACiAS Roypcox. About being traveled: we became outcast criminals aftter loosing the War. First hiding in the woods near Paris (the vallée de Chevreuse) in a ranch under local french protection (a french popular saying was that they would survive another german invasion, but never another american liberation!!). I was instructed to avoid all people since we had a prize on our heads, even friends get tempted in dire times of no food & no work. In la Françe there were no trials like Nuremberg, just placed the enemy or colaborateur in front of any wall & shot'em.

In 1948 the french-spanish border was reopened & we moved to Pamplona: not outcast criminal but refugee status now. After 4 more years we moved to Madrid and in 1956 we moved to México, being asylees now. Since nobody in the family ever spoke about war times, I did not know yet about Hitler's Final Solution & I considered myself as a wandering jew after seeing an italian movie with Vittorio Gassman (L'ebreo Errante-1948). I considered myself as having no nationality nor homeland. Begining my own family in México I started feeling mexican, after my mother & father were buried in México I obtained my mexican nationality. Before, I was considered an inmigrant.

About "loosing the War": nobody wins a War, both sides have truncated families & dead people. Only bankers & politicians (& Switzerland!) make a profit... War is Horror unleashed!!

Jean Loup, I was glad to read your interesting history. It appears that you have adopted Mexico as "home", that is very very nice. We all need a home and since your parents are there and you are there then it really is home. I am also very pleased to see that you get great joy and fun from flying flight sims. Its a great way to enjoy an evening at home. Its also nice to part of the inner society, like here with us in Simviation. You are always interesting and enjoyable in here.
